I haven't blogged in a wee while, I've been super busy!! since my last blog a store in Wellington (NZ) has started stocking Bitsy Frog jewellery, so I've been busy like a one woman production line *octopus arms* making butterfly bangles, lolly jewellery and medal brooches too (^-^)
here's a link to their facebook page, also if you're in the area don't forget to pop in and have a look <3

Yesterday was the regular Crafternoon-tea market in Kingsland (Auckland)and it was great to see some regular faces as well as a few new ones too.
As always, every time I go to a market I like to have a new range of items to sell (as well as the regular favourites)
This time around I made things suitable for Halloween (which kids love to prepare for WAYYY in advance (why leave all the fun for just one day <3) also my girl was recently given a 'werewolf' doll called Clawdene who needs particularly gruesome food to eat apparently.
So I started with a few treats for trick or treaters and some food for their parties etc - candy, cake, some black apples etc
And from there I went a bit overboard with making things like zombie fingers and brains, eyeballs and gross insects.. which I haven't photographed, but surely close to the time I will.
I photographed they eyeball and worm jars however as I made a few to sell at the market.. just over an inch tall and the slime glows in the dark, and they were a hit!
The night before the market I also decided to make some matryoshkas... in miniature!!
The first attempt was a bit large (about an inch) and was hollow and could fit a smaller one inside, but long story short it was a bit of a mission trying to make the next one hollow.. so I scrapped that idea and just made a set of tiny but un-openable ones which were also popular:
Here's a few other stalls from the market to:
Melina Baby made cool girls dresses (which I forgot to photograph!) sock monkeys, bibs, really good modern style cloth nappies and also cool hair ties <3
here's her facebook page:
Also Saskia N Designs - Kiwiana handmade resin jewellery. It's all really nicely made!
here's her facebook page:
And one of the ladies I was next to with her stall "one Button" selling up-cycled dresses made from wool blankets, doilies etc and also plunket book covers which is such a good idea since they can get so wrecked
here's her facebook page:
A wee while back the family and I went to a stage show called walking with dinosaurs which was incredibly awesome. So my next project (along with more work on the doll house :D) will be dinosaur-related. I'm quite excited about it!!
Anyways, best be off.. as like every other stay at home mum... I have housework I should really be doing (^-^)
Ciao!!

bigger stuff for the dollhouse!!
This weekend Sof asked if we could do some renovations on the dollhouse since she felt that the purple walls don't match the zebra carpet! There are other interior design violations to deal with, but one room at a time!!
This is Ted mucking about in the doll house, he's playing with the taps in the bathroom. He likes going into her room and play with barbies car, or play with the plumbing in the bathroom.
So off I went and got some supplies for constructing various bits and pieces, starting with supplies for making a couch, which she wants in cow print fur! Yes she's very specific. The couch is still under construction but I made a 'cow hide' rug, and am looking forward to making some African carvings (in miniature size of course) and maybe some beaded jewellery.
What I made some Bulgarian style pottery plates and bowls (made with polymer clay) and some traditional food too - Meatballs and shopska salad, for her kitchen, I made some Mexican and Italian food also :D
For the bedrooms I made a load of cushions and pillows, some leather books, and will make some bed-spreads and blankets too :D

gettin all crazy on making stuff!!
last week and the week before I spent a lot of time procrastinating about an assignment that I really needed to finish but wasn't motivated to do... so instead I was going bananas making a whole lot of craft stuff :D
I have visited the museum a few times since ANZAC day (April 25th) and was inspired by the scars on the heart memorial to make some war medal-inspired brooches.
These were made to add to my mens accessory collection (tie pins and cufflinks)]
Using vintage NZ coins and hand-sewed kiwiana trim, I came up with these.
The reat thing is, they aren't strictly for men! then next ones to be created will have lace also...so won't be for men :P
the left-over trim was used to make Earrings:
After a request for more butterfly jewellery, I decided to make some new earrings rings brooches and pendants
the green one is available for sale on the 'felt' website and can be shipped internationally:
http://felt.co.nz/listing/52857/Resin-Artwork-Pendant----The-green-Monarch
While cleaning up craft stuff in the basement came across this fabric trimming that
I picked up in Bulgaria, I couldn't resist using it in something!!
I haven't decided whether it will be a brooch, a ring or a pendant yet, who knows, if I make a matching one it could be (big) earrings :D
I have quite recently put up a bitsy frog page on facebook and will be having competitions to win pieces of bitsy frog jewellery as I reach "like" milestones.
check it out and become a bitsyfrog "liker" to be in to win :D

Upcoming markets and new pieces!!
I've been quite busy the last couple of weeks preparing for the next market coming up..Cafternoon-tea in Kingsland tomorrow :)
If you've never been there it's in the hall of the church on the corner of the Bond st / New north rd intersection, you should be able to find parking by the school at the top of Sandringham rd (about a 30 second walk)
There should be a few new people and some of the old favourites (sew funky, sweet surrender etc) there too :D
This time around I have a few new products which I have to admit are mostly butterfly inspired :) please excuse and tiny hands in the photos, I had a helper, oh and bigger hands too haa.
a few bangles inlaid with butterflies and my own artwork :) I also have matching rings that aren't pictured.
These are one of my favourite things I've made lately, bottled butterflies :) I've saved one for myself of one of the buterflies in the Vanessa butterfly genus :D
(Vanessa butterflies)
These aren't butterfly related but from many visits to the museum was inspired to make some cute little specimens :D
So along with my regular products these are a few of the new bits and pieces I'll be bringing along to crafternoon-tea tomorrow, 10am - 2pm, trinity church hall in Kingsland, Sat 21st May :) see you there!!

I'll leave you with one last photo from today, hope you like it :P
Bye for now!!

eat your peas!
for crying out loud eat your peas. there are crickets starving in the world. I went out to work all day to put that food on the table. If you don't eat your meat you can't have any pudding, how can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat??!!
I had some real crickets (I find dead ones in my laundry all the time which I suspect is due to the stink of training gear :P) put aside that I was going to use for various things.... but the ants ate them! So I quickly constructed a couple to use in some little scenes :)
I suspect they were initially drawn to the basement/laundry area by a weirdly hollow sausage I found down there one time.
anyways, these are my first couple of photos :)
Pudding = brains.
there will be more elaborate scenes to come :D
